BRING YOUR CARDS

Bring your Anki cards into Orbit.

Orbit can import Anki .apkg deck packages and .colpkg collection backups. An import adds cards to your Orbit library; it does not replace your existing Orbit cards or change the original Anki file.

Choose your Anki package

Export the deck or collection from Anki, then sign in to Orbit. In the web library, choose Import Anki from the toolbar and select the .apkg or .colpkg file. Orbit reads the package and adds its decks and cards to your library.

You can also import from the desktop app. Keep a copy of the original package until you have checked the imported cards and any attached media.

Check the imported cards

Orbit imports supported card content, available media, due dates, and review records. Cloze and custom note types are rendered as question-and-answer cards where supported. Anki template scripts, interactive input, and exact template styling are not reproduced, so inspect a few cards from each imported note type before a study session.

Large or unusual packages may need more care. If an import reports a problem, keep the source file and contact Orbit support with the error message; do not send account passwords or access tokens.

Continue reviewing in Orbit

Open a deck to see what is due. Reveal an answer, then choose Again, Hard, Good, or Easy to schedule the next review. Orbit can export a Basic .apkg copy of a deck, but that export does not include the original Anki templates or review history.
